The History and the Plot...

PLOT

To begin with, evolution had apes, then humans, nothing abnormal or special about them, but then came the gypsies, the witches, and now there are the Gifted.

Normal humans refer to Gifted people as abnormals; mutants is the nasty word for them, the insult.
At first like the witches, they tried to find ways of killing them, some were easily killed, others, used their gifts to escape persecution, most of the deaths were innocent Gifted children and teenagers, the ones who had little or no control over their gifts, the adults knew better to hide their powers.

One man decided that enough was enough, he was a rich man, in love with a Gifted woman, she was awaiting a trial, and he was trying to use all his riches, all his influences to save her. He owned the Duais castle, lived in it. She lived there with him until the humans stormed the castle one day he was away. He returned to find her gone, a note explaining she had been tried and found guilty of being a mutant and using her powers against a human.

Of course, he knew it was a lie, he was outraged as she had no such active power. She was a Seer, she had foreseen her verdict and left him a note, when he found out about her gift, he had promised her he'd do whatever he could to help her and others like her. She suggested he use his power and influences to create a safe haven for those who were gifted.

And so was born Duais University.

After her funeral, he went to the governor and they struck a deal. The castle would not be touched by humans so long as the students, teachers and anyone else with special abilities only used them within the grounds of the school's property.

The Gifted were banned from using their powers anywhere but this safe haven, the penalty depends on what the crime is, to hurt a human, is to risk the penalty of death.

On the property of Duais, older Gifted people have become teachers, they have studied inside and outside of the school and now try and teach younger Gifted people how to harness their powers and use them without losing control of themselves.

Outside the walls of the castle, students must be careful not to expose themselves to humans, though years have past since the separation of the Gifted and normal humans, fear is still rank within the humans, it is rare to find a human that will not scream in terror upon meeting an Abnormal.
