Colette was laying on the couch sleeping peacefully... or was she? Truth be told she didn't get that much sleep these days because she was alway awoken by dreams. It sucked, but she didn't have much of a choice but to deal with it.
She was walking down a dark corridor, but it wasn't one of those haunted house, creepy type corridors. Just an average unlit corridor. She stopped when she saw the light on in a room at the very end. Something assalted her ears. It was a faint whisper. "Colette." Her brows furrowed in confusion as she took a step closer. "Colette." The hushed voice called again. "Mama?" She asked in confusion as she started to move towards the room.
She shifted every few moments as the dream progressed. She mumbled whatever she was saying in the dream.
With each step the voice grew a little louder. When she stepped into the room there was nothing there. It was just a white room. Nothing on the walls or floor or ceiling. It was odd, but then a figure in the middle of the room caught her eyes. "Mama?" She asked hopefully as she slowly advanced to the woman in a beautiful white sundress. She just nodded her head delicately to answer her child's answer. "Oh, Mama! Please come back. I miss you so much, come home." She begged falling to her knees at the feet of the women. "I can't come home child until you remember."The woman said gently looking down at Colette. "But I do. I remeber the accident and I remember you and daddy. I remember every feature of you and daddy and how ya'll sound and how you used to sing me to sleep when I was little. I remember." She ranted as tears started to form. The woman shook her head gently at her daughter's insistant plea. "No, you don't." She said and then she vanished and the wreck played across the wall.
She jumped up falling off the couch onto the floor as a gasp came from her mouth. She felt her cheeks come to find that they were damp with tears and she looked to the fireplace in thought as she tried to process what her mother meant. She had been having the same dream for weeks now and she didn't understand it. She looked to the picture she had been sketching earlier and realized that it was her mother. She ripped it out and balled it up throwing it into the fireplace. "What do you mean remember? Remember what!? I thought I had rembered everything I should." She retorted angrily watching the picture burn as the flames ate away at it. She sat back down watching the flames of the fire dance around in the fireplace.
She tried to think back to what she knew about her past and she racked her brain for whatever her mother was trying to tell her. It was causing much frustration for her. There were things she was afraid she would never remeber, and it scared her to think that sometimes. She sat down and pulled her knees up to herself and rested her head down on her knees and wrapped her arms around her leg. "Why me?" She murmured softly as she lifted her head and propped her chin on her knees watching the flames as they danced much like a couple doing a feisty tengo.
